Nick and his family relocate to a new home and school. At school, he got into a disagreement with a bully names Zach. As well as this he was given a random schedule change. Later that week Nick was invited to "The Dust Off" which was really a party at a friends house. But there as a dilemma. Nick had to finish his essay or he wouldn't be able to attend. Still new, Nick is realizing new this about a good friend names Eli including that his sister was a schoolmate Reya. Eli and Nick both went to the party together, but Nick still got his amazing essay in as well. The following day Nick was walking through the school and found Eli dead on the floor. Within a split second, Nick sprinted home only to find police cars in the driveway. The police started to question Nick, but Nick pleaded not guilty multiple times, but still got thrown in jail anyway.
We would recommend this book this book to all mystery followers. This book always ends chapters with excitement and cliffhangers which leaves us wondering.
We predict that Nick did not commit the crime but his father may have something to do with the crime.
